HP Support:the future HP TouchSmart

HP Support: I evaluated a couple of these high-powered computers in the past two years, and every time I sit down and use my fingers to interact with their huge displays of beauty, browsing applications and media with a series of films, pinching and bows, I experience the strange feeling that I'm a bit like Tom Cruise in Minority Report, and that the future is finally now. 
The $ 1,799 TouchSmart 600 of the third generation of the company all-in-one, leaves an impression not unlike that of his ancestors. Interface with 23-inch, clear, touch-enabled, full HD, which occupies a fairly large portion of their field of vision when sitting or standing directly in front of it, is a truly intuitive and immersive. 
Of course, as important as the screen is great HP TouchSmart software, a sort of second system, simpler operation that provides larger buttons better suited for a touchscreen interface and provides easy access to many commonly used applications. The new version has been renewed for Microsoft Windows 7, which in turn has been restructured to function perfectly with touch-enabled screens. 
When executed you will see a number of programs defined inactive square images HP calls "tiles" that covers the bottom of the screen. Open, over active applications can be flipped with the touch of a finger. Tap a tile to open a new application, slide open applications until the bottom row to close it. 
The TouchSmart set includes programs that let users search for music, videos and photos (you can disseminate images and then stack them, label, or change its size), create voice, video and messages written by family members that appear sticky notes on the screen, and maintain individual and group calendars of events that can be shared and printed as needed. There are also boxes to watch TV and movie playback. Connect your cable signal to the tuner card and you will be able to play, pause, rewind and record live TV through the simple but effective program TouchSmart live TV. Or you can just pop in a DVD or Blu-ray. Either way, you can control the action not only touch-screen buttons, but also included full-size media remote. In fact, some other teams feel so at home (or perform so admirably) doubling as a television. 

On the side of the site can record video using the webcam above the screen tilt and then upload to YouTube at the touch of a button. You can also start Internet Explorer 8, establish RSS feeds, and create customized tables TouchSmart to any website or online service you choose.
Unfortunately, the Canadian model lacks some applications found in the American version, including online video services like Hulu and Netflix, none of which are available north of the border.
The Canadian edition also lacks applications for Twitter and Cookbook, an orderly program of the chefs that responds to voice commands and can read the cooking instructions out loud to no fat to the screen while preparing meals. I asked him why these applications are left out and was told that there are only English versions, making them incompatible with Canada's bilingual edition.
These omissions aside, my only other criticism is that the touch interface is still just a bit picky. The software sometimes registers a touch when the finger hovers a few millimeters of the screen, and slides slowly sometimes recorded as films to navigate through programs and files. Do not take long to adjust one interface style to these peculiarities, but in a perfect product should not be necessary.
The 600 TouchSmart physical appearance is a study of industrial design elegant and sophisticated. The narrow piano black frame and stand requires a space with a little over 20 inches deep, which means it does not deal all that much space and fit perfectly in most counters and sideboards. And, in most cases, only behind the wires behind will be a single power cable and maybe a TV coaxial, keeping things nice and clean.
A button on the side controls the intensity of a faint blue glow that emanates from under the screen used to illuminate the features ultra-thin wireless keyboard and mouse. These peripherals will slide out of place on the screen when not in use.
Other features lining the edges of the team include a slot load Blu-ray player, an HDMI input that the manual suggests that users employ to connect game consoles (that terrible 16: 9 full HD makes a good screen to play the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 games), and a standard set of ports including five USB connectors, six-in-one memory card reader, headphone and microphone ports and various additional audio inputs / outputs that allow users to connect other video playback devices.
Its innards are not as impressive as his polished chassis, but still offer enough power for most users. A 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, four gigabytes of memory, and 230 NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards are sufficient for productivity applications, the performance of image and video editing activities, and even allowed to play the PC game Occasionally next RUSE (Ubisoft the first of a coming wave of games designed with the goal of most PCs equipped with touch screen). 750 gigabytes of hard disk storage should satisfy most users in the data warehouse needs.
Obviously it is a bit of art desirable. The problem for most is price, $ 1799 is hard to swallow in a market where competitors can find all-in-one touch screen PC for as little as $ 600. If you plan to buy, I recommend choosing one up on your next trip, the U.S., where it is sold for U.S. $ 1249.99 and can be found in some stores for less. Bonus: It comes with all TouchSmart applications that are missing in the Canadian edition.
